Harry and Meghan were married in a televised service on May, 19 2018 in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. Afterwards, the couple went away for a more private reception where they shared their first dance.
Finding Freedom, the biography that dives into Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s exit from the Royal Family, has already dropped a few bombshells about the Royal Family ahead of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s departure from the UK.
However, the book also goes back to Harry and Meghan’s early relationship including their fairytale wedding.
Intimate details from the evening reception following their lavish Windsor wedding in 2018 have been revealed in the new royal biography.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex married at St George’s Chapel – with the ceremony being broadcast around the world.
The couple then left for their private party at nearby Frogmore House.
According to Harper’s Bazaar UK, the book revealed the couple was completely “joyful on the big day” and shared their first dance song to “I’m in Love” by Wilson Pickett.
American soul singer and songwriter Wilson Pickett is also known for acclaimed hits ‘In The Midnight Hour’ and ‘Mustang Sally’.
The excerpt added: “Meghan also delivered her own toast at the reception”.

However, back in 2018, the Telegraph reported that the couple’s first dance was to a completely different song.
The publication claimed the pair danced to “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston.
They even claimed it was Meghan Markle’s “happy song.”
At the time, it was reported that the couple took a lot of time choosing their wedding playlist, which was put together by Pippa Middleton’s own wedding DJ, Sam Totolee.

Elton John also performed a few songs live on the day.
For their wedding ceremony, Meghan and Harry hired the Kingdom Gospel Choir to perform Ben E. King’s classic ‘Stand by Me’ and Etta James’ ‘This Little Light of Mine’ as they walked down the aisle following their nuptials.
The book also claimed that the couple had a difficult time with palace aides in the leadup to the wedding.
The book says Prince Harry was even told off by the Queen for his offensive language.
The ‘telling off’ came after the Prince got upset when the Queen’s dresser and confidante Angela Kelly was unable to meet Meghan’s sudden demand to visit Buckingham Palace.
The sudden trip came as Meghan was looking to go to the palace with her hairdresser to try on a tiara the pair had chosen for their wedding.
However, it was pointed out that protocol dictates an appointment must be made to access the Queen’s jewels.
On hearing this news, Harry is said to have used offensive language about Ms Kelly as he heaped pressure on courtiers to persuade her to travel to London.
Upon doing so, the Duke wanted staff to unlock the cupboard where the tiara was kept.
The Queen learned of the outburst via Ms Kelly and proceeded to summon her grandson to a private meeting.
A Royal source said: “He was put firmly in his place.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have said they did not contribute nor give interviews for the book.
