Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s birthday message to William blasted ‘ill manners!’
The Duke of Cambridge turns 37 today and to mark the occasion Kensington Palace shared a snap of the royal on social media. Meghan and Harry commented on Instagram and said: “Happy Birthday to The Duke of Cambridge!”
But some users criticised the Sussexes after they recently penned less formal messages to other members of the royal family.
One said: “@sussexroyal well well well, what a cold happy birthday”
Another wrote: “@sussexroyal doesn’t sound like you wanna wish him at all.”
A third added: “Such a cold birthday wish. That’s confirmation right there that something unsettling is going on between Meghan and Kate. The brothers and Kate were fine until Meghan. Very sad, indeed.”
Another said: “@sussexroyal wouldn’t Wishing your brother be more gentle. This reads like there is hostility.”
One more added: “@sussexroyal really? That’s all? And just calling him Duke when you love to speak of yourselves as HRH? Lol, that’s just such a display of ill manners.”
But another fan defended Meghan and Harry, posting: “you guys are never happy!! When they wished George and Charlotte, happy bday the informal way, it was the same, people complaining.”
It comes after months of speculation of a rift between the brothers and their wives.
Earlier this year, Meghan and Harry moved to Windsor and split from the Cambridges’ Kensington Palace household.
And yesterday it was revealed that they are breaking away from their joint charity with William and Kate.
The Royal Foundation was set up by the brothers in 2009 to run all their charitable campaigns and ventures.

It was joined by Kate in 2011 and Meghan in May 2018, following their royal weddings.
But it is all over just 16 months after they appeared as a foursome at a Royal Foundation event back in February 2018.
The latest announcement is likely to fuel speculation about a feud between the two couples.
