Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will never reveal name of their dog as it’s ‘too private’
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently adopted a rescue dog, leaving Royal fans eager to find out the Royal newbie’s name. The royal couple already have a beagle named Guy who was flown to England in 2017 ahead of the royal wedding. Meghan has always been a dog-lover and before she moved to the UK to marry Prince Harry she had to leave her Labrador-German Shepherd mix Bogart behind in Canada.
Speaking to Yahoo’s Royal Box, Omid Scoobie said: “Pets are off limits for all members of the royal family.
“I remember when the Cambridges first got Lupo there was such a furore over the name of the dog.
“I think it drove press secretaries crazy that they regularly had all of us asking what was the name of this dog.
“Harry and Meghan have chosen not to release the name of their most recent addition of their family.
“Kate and William didn’t either and I remember a child asked Kate on an official engagement and she told him and that’s how it came out.”
However, there is speculation the labrador is called Oz as a nod to the couple’s royal tour in Australia.
The two are currently on tour in Africa with the son Archie Harrison, aged four months.
During the visit Meghan made a personal visit to a memorial in South Africa during her royal visit.
She visited the memorial of a South African student who was raped and murdered.
Buckingham Palace said it was a “personal gesture” Meghan wanted to make ahead of several other visits she was set to make.
Meghan wrote a touching message on a yellow ribbon on visiting the memorial, placing the bright piece of cloth on it as a tribute to the tragic incident.
The Duchess is said to have “personally followed the tragic story” according to Buckingham Palace, and was entranced by the horrifying details in which the murder panned out.
