During ITV’s Lorraine, Christine Lampard and Royal expert Roya Nikkhah discussed the role Meghan Markle’s mother Doria is playing in raising bay Archie in Los Angles. Ms Nikkhah stated Doria has stepped up and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are “very lucky” to have her help due to the fact Prince Harry does not have any family nearby.

The royal expert said: “I think she will be top of the list for a lot of people’s requests for after dinner speaking and engagements.”

Ms Lampard replied: “Well it is very good that she has got great childcare because granny Doria has stepped up hasn’t she?”

Ms Nikkhah said: “This is the very lucky thing for Harry and Meghan, they do have Doria very nearby.

“They are currently in LA so is Doria, there have been reports that she is living with them.

“My understanding is that she is not living with them full time.

“She is spending a lot of time at their home, she lives close by, she is keeping house.

“She is helping out with Archie which I am sure Meghan will be thrilled with.

“Harry doesn’t have any family with him at the moment so they need all the help they can get.”

Last week Meghan Markle gave an insight into how baby Archie is being raised by herself and Prince Harry.

During her speech for the Girl Up Leadership Summit, the Duchess of Sussex praised the progression made by this generation and called for a continued approach of conviction and compassion.

Meghan Markle also stated that Prince Harry and baby Archie will be “cheering on” those that continue to lead the way forward.

The Duchess of Sussex said: “We make better communities and a better world for ourselves step by step.

“The pace of those steps are getting quicker, it is looking at the big picture that you can see how far we have progressed.

“I am extraordinarily proud of what you have accomplished.

“Please continue to honour the conviction and compassion that has awoken within you.

“I will be cheering you on, so will my husband, so will Archie as you all continue marching, advocating and leading the way forward.”
