Meghan Markle and Prince Harry share heartfelt Instagram update during Thanksgiving break

Meghan and Prince Harry interrupted their six-week break from royal duties to take to Instagram and wish their supporters and royal fans a “very happy Thanksgiving”. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a message opening with their monogram and written in the now-iconic dark blue they use every time they share a text as a picture.

The message read: “Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex”.

The picture was paired with a simple caption, reading “Happy Thanksgiving!” and accompanied with a leaf.

Meghan and Prince Harry are spending their first Thanksgiving as parents with the Duchess’ mother, Doria Ragland.

As confirmed by their spokesperson earlier this month, they will also spend Christmas with her and won’t be in Norfolk with other senior royals.

The statement from the Sussex spokesperson read: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month.

“Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, [the couple] will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’ mother Doria.”

Royal fans from across the wold welcomed the lovely message from Meghan and Harry.

One Canadian royal fan said: “Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family… enjoy your holidays with your beautiful mom”.

Another highlighted how this was Meghan and Harry’s first Thanksgiving as parents.

They wrote: “Happy Thanksgiving to my favourite prince/Duke and his precious Dutchess and baby Archie.”

A Danish royal fan said: “I wish you all the Best. Happiness and peace.

“Love from a royalist from Denmark.”

Buckingham Palace hasn’t released any details concerning how Meghan and Harry will spend today’s all-American holiday.

But one royal expert believed the Duchess will cook for her family without the help of her royal staff.

Katie Nicholl told OK! magazine: “Meghan loves being in the kitchen.

“She’s a talented chef and takes great pleasure in bringing people together over a family meal.

“There won’t be any staff helping her – she’ll definitely be wearing the apron”.

Before becoming a Duchess, Meghan used to share pictures and recipes of her Thanksgivings.

In 2016, the self-confessed foodie showed off her culinary skills publishing a picture of a perfectly-cooked turkey.

The caption read: “Oh, that time I roasted a pretty perfect Thanksgiving turkey!

“The question is, can I do it again? The pressure is on!”
