Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are said to be considering a relaunch to Meghan’s lifestyle blog, The Tig, after it emerged they applied to reactivate the trademark name. Royal editor Russell Myers suggested the lifestyle blog will be an “undoubted success” should it be resumed as the public is interested in knowing about the couple’s lifestyle. Meghan has previously uploaded recipes on her blog, actively written about feminism and activism and posted holiday snaps.
Speaking to Pod Save the Queen, Mr Myers said: “Let’s say if Tig unearthed and was not only the nuggets from her life, she was talking issues, big issues that she is involved in feminism, in activism, she was putting recipes on there as well.
“So I just think it was this whole of lifestyle aspect and what are people interested in? People are interested not only in their activism, not only in their work, causes like mental health and so.
“But I think people are very very interested in their lifestyle. So it was to be unearthed, it will be an undoubted success, so why wouldn’t they do that?”
Meghan Markle’s lifestyle blog launched in 2014 with the name drawing inspiration from her favourite wine, Tignanello.

Meghan largely spoke about her mother, Doria Ragland, and her father Thomas Markle although she has notably not been in touch with him for years.
The Duchess once described her lifestyle blog as a “passion project” that evolved into an “amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity”.
Meghan’s lawyer Marjorie Witter Norman filed a new application to trademark the name last July after a similar application filed in 2019 expired last year.
The application for the Tig was filed under Delaware-based company, Frim Fram Inc which is linked to Meghan’s business manager, Andrew Meyer.

Meghan’s representative said that the trademark is to avoid false branding: “The lasting trademark is to prevent false branding, to avoid others purporting to be the Duchess or affiliated with her.”
In one of her posts on the blog, Meghan wrote about her “unladylike habits” and pledged to give them up as a New Year’s resolution.
She wrote: “Run a marathon. Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing. Re-learn French. These make my New Year’s resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year.

“The marathon hasn’t happened. The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple of drinks.
“Then there’s the French – a language I studied through high school and then lost as I immersed myself in speaking Spanish with the Argentinians during my stint in Buenos Aires.
“I have put my little Rosetta Stone headset in my eager ears every year, resolving to do interviews en français, but much to my chagrin, it hasn’t stuck.”
The Duchess of Sussex shut down the blog shortly before her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018.
