Meghan Markle and Prince Harry hand excited fan ‘precious Cinderella moment’ – VIDEO

A girl attending the Youth Reception at the British High Commissioner’s residence in Cape Town on Monday evening saw her life briefly turned into a fairytale after her shoe got stuck in the grass. In a brief clip, Jade Bothma, can be seen speaking with Meghan and another young guest, Hunter Mitchell.

But tragedy struck when the teen is kindly asked to move to let other people pass by one member of the staff, as her shoe remain stuck on the British High Commissioner’s residence garden.

After brief moments of uncertainty, Meghan bends down to help Jade get her footwear back.

But Harry, acting like a fairytale’s Prince Charming, ran to the rescue to gallantly take the shoe up, just before Jade managed to recover it herself.

The Duke of Sussex then joined the conversation between the youngsters and his wife.

The video, shared on Instagram, left royal fans in awe.

One wrote: “So clever! What a great moment for her.”

And another, highlighting the episode resembled a fairytale, said: “A Cinderella moment.”

A third simply said: “Aww, this is precious!”

The shoe blunder took place on the first day of Meghan and Harry’s tour to Africa.

The pair are taking part in a 10-day tour, focused on the environment, women empowerment and mental health.

Despite having arrived in Cape Town together with their son Archie Harrison, the family-of-three split yesterday, with Meghan and her son remaining in the city and Harry leaving for Botswana to take on a long series of solo engagement.

Despite having arrived in Cape Town together with their son Archie Harrison, the family-of-three split yesterday, with Meghan and her son remaining in the city and Harry leaving for Botswana to take on a long series of solo engagement.

However, the family looked as united as ever on Wednesday morning, when Meghan and Harry took royal fans by surprise and arrived at their scheduled meeting with Archbishop Desmond Tutu with their son.

The encounter, which marked Archie’s first-ever royal engagement, saw legendary anti-apartheid activist Archbishop Tutu and his eldest daughter gushing over the four-month-old.

In a hilarious video, Thandeka Tutu can be heard laughing and saying Archie will be a “ladies man”.

As the royal baby cooed on his mother’s lap, Thandeka added Archie would need to get used to the cameras.

But Harry replied: “I think he’s used to it already.”

And former actress Meghan added shortly after: “I have cameras in my genes.”

The Tutus happily send off the Sussexes with a basked of gifts, including some presents for little Archie.

Among the presents, there are a set of signed children’s books written by the Archbishop, a children’s songbook containing the work of Patricia Schonstein, who opened a school in 1984 in defiance of apartheid rules, and a copy of the Book of Joy signed by the Dalai Lama and the Archbishop.

Today Prince Harry is carrying out several engagements in northern Botswana, including meeting members of Sentebale, a charity he founded in the small kingdom of Lesotho in 2006 and has recently expanded abroad.

This morning, the prince spoke of how emotionally connected he is with Botswana, a country he first visited just months after his mother Princess Diana died.

He said: “15 years I’ve been coming here, it’s a sense of escapism, a real sense of purpose.

“I have some of my closest friends here and I came here in 1997 or 1998 straight after my mum died, so it was a nice place to get away from it all.

“But now I feel deeply connected to this place and to Africa.”
