Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton go head-to-head in popularity poll ahead of Tatler cover
Kate, Duchess of Cambridge is favoured by almost half of those surveyed against royal sister-in-law Meghan Markle. According to a national survey by Tatler the Duchess of Cambridge, who will one day become Queen Consort, is popular with the British public.
Tatler reports than 44 percent prefer Kate to Meghan.
The fashion and lifestyle magazine also revealed that of the some 2,000 British adults surveyed, 55 percent agreed Meghan had been good for the Royal Family while 45 percent disagreed.
This isn’t the first time the Duchess of Cambridge has be pitted against than the wife of Prince Harry in a poll.
In an annual YouGov poll published in August Kate was voted a more popular member of the British Royal Family than Meghan.

It is the second year in a row the opinion poll has ranked the Duchess of Cambridge higher than the Duchess of Sussex.
The YouGov research was carried out between June 2018 and June 2019, with 9,000 people interviewed.
Of the participants, 64 percent said they had a positive opinion of Kate while just 10 percent disliked Prince William’s wife.
However, only 49 percent of participants regarded Meghan favourably and 16 percent had a negative opinion.
The reason Kate may be ranked more popular than Meghan by the public could be due to her being a member of the family longer.
Kate married Prince William in 2011 while Meghan only became a royal in 2018 when she tied the knot Prince Harry.
The Duchess of Cambridge is also preparing for her role as a future Queen Consort and is taking on more engagements than ever.
Kate and William also have more followers on social media than Harry and Meghan.

On Instagram the Cambridges’ official account has 10.2million followers while the Sussexes’ has 9.7million.
Tatler also asked the 2,000 British adults other questions about Meghan.
The survey also found:
- 39 percent perceived the Duchess to be hypocritical on environmental issues
- 44 percent of whom prefer Kate Middleton to Meghan Markle
- 23 percent believe Meghan and Harry would be better off moving to Los Angeles
- 40 percent of those polled believe the media treat long-suffering Meghan unfairly and 27 percent think that’s driven by racism
ComRes surveyed 2,016 British adults on 6-8 September 2019.
Data were weighted to be demographically representative of all GB adults.
