Speculation over the royal pair’s relationship has rocketed as a Buckingham Palace insider told US-based lifestyle magazine US Weekly that the pair are working to “mend” their shattered relationship. The source went so far as to say that it is in fact Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge that has been “reaching out” with “texts and gifts” to Meghan as they bond over having daughters Lilibet and Charlotte. The bombshell claims come despite Meghan telling interview host Oprah Winfrey that Kate “made me cry” before her wedding where previously it was believed it was the other way around.

A royal source told US Weekly: “Meghan and Kate are actually getting along really well and have been in touch more often.

“Meghan and Kate’s relationship was never that close.

“And now they’re closer than ever and working on their relationship for the sake of the family.”

But in a shocking claim, the source claimed that the pair could be working on a huge commercial project together.

The source told US Weekly: “Meghan has been talking to her about collaborating on a project for Netflix.

“A documentary that will spotlight Kate’s charity work and the huge impact she’s made with her philanthropy.”

They claimed that Kate is “very flattered [by the offer]” and it’s “all very positive between them.”

The huge claims continued as the source also suggested that despite the “real animosity that the brothers have toward one another” the pair have bonded further in other areas.

The source said: “They’re in a better place and have exchanged texts since the birth of Lilibet.

“They’ve bonded over both having daughters and can’t wait for all the cousins to meet.”

But in a shock revelation another source claimed Kate is actively vying for more and more communication with Meghan after a turbulent year.

A second source said: “Kate has been reaching out to Meghan a lot more since [Lili] was born! She’s sending [notes and] gifts and trying to build up a relationship.”

The dramatic claims come despite Meghan telling Oprah Winfrey in the Sussex’s bombshell interview in March that Kate made her cry at her wedding.

Speaking to Winfrey, the Duchess of Sussex said: “The narrative with Kate, it didn’t happen.

“A few days before the wedding she was upset about flower girl dresses and it made me cry – It really hurt my feelings.

“It was a really hard week of the wedding. And she was upset about something, but she owned it, and she apologized. 

“And she brought me flowers and a note, apologising.”
