Meghan Markle and Harry: When will we first see Meghan, Harry and Archie in South Africa?
Meghan Markle, 38, and Prince Harry, 35, have landed in South Africa with baby Archie Harrison and will soon embark one their first official trip as a family. The royal tour is due to begin this afternoon, just hours after they touched down in Cape Town. Here’s when they are expected to first step out in public.
Meghan and Harry left baby Archie at home to travel to Rome for fashion designer Misha Nonoo’s star-studded wedding on Friday.
The royal couple then returned to London on Saturday morning ahead of travelling to Africa.
They will kick off the first leg of their packed 10-day visit in Cape Town.
While it’s still unclear how many of the royal engagements little Archie will attend, Meghan and Harry are due to visit a workshop which teaches children about their rights and provides self-defence classes.
They will then tour the District Six Museum, a memorial to the 60,000 residents forced from their homes in the area during apartheid in the 1970s.
The Duke and Duchess will learn about the work being done to reunite families separated by the regime.
They will then join a community cooking activity with former District Six residents.
When will they first be seen in South Africa?
Meghan, Harry and Archie are said to have landed in South Africa this morning.
At around 8am, royal correspondent Katie Nicholl tweeted: “The #Sussexes have safely landed here in South Africa where the tour will start in Cape Town in a few hours time.”
As there was no official welcome party at the airport, fans will have to wait until this afternoon for the first royal sighting.
They are expected to first be seen by the public at around 1.30pm local time (12.30pm BST) when they officially commence their first engagement.
Ms Andrews tweeted: “Harry, Meghan & baby Archie are due to touch down in Cape Town to begin their Southern Africa tour in a couple of hours!
“There’s no official welcome at the airport, so we’ll see them first at a township around 1.30pm local time.”
Both royals have a packed schedule starting in South Africa.
Prince Harry will fly off to visit Botswana, Angola and Malawi for a few days while Meghan remains busy in SA.
The Sussexes will reunite in Johannesburg for the final two days of the tour.
