Meghan Markle and Harry OWE it to the public to make public appearance with royal baby

The Sky News commentator lambasted Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry as they announced there will be no announcement on the day their first Royal Baby will arrive. Ms Malone argued it was time the Royal Family “gave back” to the British people who pay to have them and simply care about celebrating the arrival of Baby Sussex. She said: “There we were all looking forward to the arrival of Baby Sussex and boom: Meghan and Harry made the announcement that there will be no announcement on the birth of their child because they want to celebrate ‘privately as a family’.

“Okay, someone needs to explain to me how a statement announcing the baby’s name, weight and gender, would invade their privacy or deny them precious family time.

“This is an unprecedented slap in the face for those legions of decent ordinary people who love the Royal Family and who think the Royal birth as a joyful national celebration.

“A celebration they have now been shut out of.

“No one is expecting Meghan to parade her baby minutes after giving birth.

“And, of course, they’re entitled to private time with the Baby Sussex.

How hard would it be to spend two miserly minutes outside the hospital waving and smiling at people?

“But how hard would it be to spend two miserly minutes outside the hospital waving and smiling at people who only want to wish them well?

“Us Brits give so much to the Royal Family, we also pay for the privilege of having them.

“Isn’t it time the Royals gave something back?”

Last week, Meghan and Prince Harry made the “personal decision” not to share details about the tot, who will be seventh in line to the throne, until they have had time to “celebrate privately”.

Meghan and Prince Harry’s household said: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby.

“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private.

“The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

It follows growing speculation that Meghan could opt for a home birth at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.

Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey, where the Countess of Wessex gave birth to her children, has also been suggested as it is close to Meghan and Harry’s new house.

Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland is expected to fly from LA to the UK this month ahead of the birth of her first grandchild.
