Meghan Markle and Harry make ‘subtle’ dig at negative media with ‘powerful’ Mandela quote
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced yesterday that they would be embarking on the official tour “as a family” in just a couple of weeks. Four-month-old baby Archie will be joining them on the Africa visit, as the Duchess ends her maternity leave for the first time. Ahead of their visit, the royal couple has posted a “powerful quote” from Nelson Mandela, the anti-apartheid revolutionary, and many fans have suggested the quote is a subtle dig at negative media.
The quote, shared to their Instagram account SussexRoyal, said: “It is easy to break down and destroy. The heroes are those who make peace and build.”
Royal fans have commented on the post, and suggested the quote is a jibe.
One person wrote: “Is that shade coming from my royals? I love it.”
Another said: “Ha ha subtle and yet very clear.”
A third person wrote: “We love you and keep doing what you are doing.
“The haters are just louder but the people who loves you are many. Thank you for being such amazing role models.”
Another said: “Rise above the haters, Harry and Meghan! There are so many more people who love you both.”
A fifth agreed: “Keep up the good work you are doing. Don’t listen to the hates. You two are amazing.”
The Instagram post, shared to their 9.4 million followers, read: “Sharing a powerful quote to start the week.
“Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a true leader, a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary and philanthropist who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.”
It has received over 45,000 likes in just half an hour.
Meghan and Harry often share inspirational quotes on their Instagram account, with the last one featuring a line from Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
