Meghan Markle and Harry DELAY Archie’s meeting with ‘busy’ Prince Charles and William

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on May 6 and introduced the baby to the world two days after his birth. But an official visit to Germany kept grandfather Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall from meeting their grandson for the first time. The pair was scheduled to visit Meghan and Harry on Sunday to be officially introduced to Archie but after the meeting was postponed, royal expert Angela Mollard suggested the delay may have been the result of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still settling into their new role as parents.

Ms Mollard told The Morning Show: “They came back from Germany on Friday and they were due to see the Sussexes on Sunday. That didn’t happen.

“There’s been no explanation as to why that didn’t happen but when you’ve had a baby, you don’t know what the day is going to like.

“You don’t know what the night is going to be like. They might have gotten no sleep that night and they might just have said ‘look, can you make it another day?”

Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge are expected to officially meet their nephew Archie Harrison on Monday but Ms Mollard branded the visit to the newest member of the Royal Family “slow.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge traveled to North Wales shortly after the birth of the child to visit an RAF search and rescue base near Anglesey, where the first lived after marrying in 2011.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry introduced their first child to the world in an intimate photocall at St George’s Hall in Windsor Castle before having the Queen and Prince Philip meet the baby.

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is believed to have been born nearly a week overdue, with the besotted Duke and Duchess of Sussex saying that they were “so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy” with Meghan adding she had the “two best guys in the world”.

Royal biographer Angela Levin claimed some members of the Royal Family will be relieved if Meghan takes some time out to care for baby Archie.

Ms Levin said: “Yet Meghan has aroused the suspicion of some Palace insiders because of her apparent disregard for such long-established Royal values as caution and discretion.

“The 12 months since she got married have been far from straightforward. She has been unable to prevent long-standing family disagreements becoming headline news and has lost a number of staff, including her press adviser.

“She has often appeared to run her own publicity machine, in fact, disregarding courtiers in the process.

“Indeed, insiders are laying last week’s PR fiasco around Archie’s birth at her door.”

The birth of Archie has been seen as proof Meghan Markle does not obey by the rules of the Palace – it was announced that the Duchess was in labour in the early afternoon but she had actually given birth a whole eight hours earlier.

Ms Levin said that Buckingham Palace was horrified that before Meghan’s wedding, Kensington Palace would issue regular statements about Meghan’s father. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex split their household form Prince William and Kate’s in March, with their communication team answering directly to the Queen’s.

She said: “Buckingham Palace was horrified. A key part of being Royal is that you don’t say anything about that sort of thing. The Palace abides by its mantra, ‘When in doubt, never speak out.”
