Meghan Markle ‘agrees to Vogue shoot’ days after demanding to NOT be snapped at Wimbledon

The Duchess is in talks with the magazine’s editor Anna Wintour, as the pair try and thrash out a deal for a monthly feature. The segment will mostly focus on Meghan’s charity work, and according to the Daily Mail, a spread of pictures has been earmarked for September. The images and column will review women’s empowerment.

But she is not expected to appear on the front cover.

A source told the newspaper: “The spread in Vogue won’t be a superficial photo shoot – on the contrary, she wants to use it as a platform to make a difference.

“She is working with Vogue as a contributing editor on a few fabulous stories about the causes that are near and dear to her and it may eventually become a regular column.

“Anna Wintour is also part of the talks and is in discussions about running some or all of the stories in US Vogue.”

Reports suggest Meghan has been encouraged to take up the role by friend and wife of George Clooney, Amal.

But the development comes after Meghan received a furious backlash from a member of the public who accidentally took a picture of the royal during Wimbledon.

Sally Jones was seated in the same row as Meghan for Serena Williams’ match, and began snapping pictures.

As she took a shot, a royal protection officer told her to stop because Meghan was attending in a “private capacity”.

Ms Jones, however, was astonished because she didn’t even realise Meghan was there.

She said that it was “another example of silly control freakery”, which is now fast becoming a signature for Meghan and husband Harry.

The pair came under fire for refusing to let the media take pictures before Archie’s christening, with the event private.

Only a handful of pictures were published.
