Meghan Markle admits Prince Archie will not get his Christmas wish this year

Meghan Markle described as a ‘thorn in Prince Harry’s side’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will seemingly not be returning to the UK in time for the holidays with the mother-of-two revealing the one Christmas wish her son has will be left unanswered this year regardless of where they are.

During a Netflix panel, which the former Suits star was moderating, Meghan shared a rare detail about four-year-old Prince Archie who has been largely kept out of the limelight since his parents left the Royal Family.

While speaking to photographer Misan Harriman and actor David Oyelowo about their new short film The After, the Duchess thanked Misan for being an “inspiration” to her son.

She revealed: “Misan was showing him how to do photography the last time he was with us, and I bought Archie a camera, and he said; ‘But it’s not a Leica like Misan’.”

The German camera brand is world-renowned for its quality, as well as the eye-watering price tags due to the time-intensive manufacturing process but it doesn’t seem like the young Prince will be getting his hands on one for quite some time.

Meghan continued: “I said ‘You are not getting a Leica! Not even for Christmas!’

“So thank you for the inspiration across the board.”

The new insights come just after the 42-year-old opened up about her family’s new Christmas traditions and plans away from their family ties.

She told E! News in October: “We’re creating new [Christmas traditions] now that our little ones are growing up, and we’re enjoying every moment of it.

“I love trimming and decorating the tree with my children.”

The Netflix panel at a private residence in California saw the Duchess moonlighting as a panel moderator for the streaming giant as her friend Misan made his directorial debut with his new short film The After.

During the panel, Meghan revealed that she and Misan had been friends for “over a decade” as she praised his talents for finding “anything that’s really evocative”.

The photographer was overwhelmed with the sensational reception, as he shared some snaps from the evening writing on Instagram: “Here are some images from a very special screening of The After moderated by the Duchess of Sussex.

“It was extra special to have her and so many of my film idols watch this film.”
