An insider has described how it is Meghan Markle who “makes the decisions” at home with her husband, Prince Harry.

The insider outlined that Meghan “runs the household”, a situation which both her and Harry are “happy” with.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex currently live in a nine-bedroom home in Montecito, California, with their young family.

According to the insider, Meghan and Harry are “really happy” with their life in the US, despite it being very different to their previous royal life back in the UK.

They added: “Meghan does seem to run the household and make the decisions, but it’s not that he bends for her.

The insider told PEOPLE: “It’s just a dynamic that works for them, and maybe one that he needs after everything that he’s been through.”

The couple have lived in the US since 2020, and are now settled there with their children, four-year-old Archie and two-year-old Lilibet.

The comments come after recent reports suggested that the pair’s five-year marriage is currently experiencing a tricky patch.

Despite this, a source told Page Six the rumours over the Sussexes’ marriage woes are “literally made up” and are “not true”.

This news also comes after reports that the couple bought the rights to Carley Fortune’s book, ‘Meet Me At The Lake.

The couple are reportedly planning on producing a film of the novel for Netflix, with reports stating that they paid £3 million for the rights.

The best-selling novel was released last May, with a huge 37,000 copies sold in the first week alone.

The book is described as a “breathtaking love story about two strangers who come together when they need each other.”

A source has stated the project could be their “most significant” yet.

Themes followed in the book also bear a striking resemblance to that of Meghan and Harry’s own reality.

The book explores themes such as the death of a parent and the end of a much-loved friendship.

Ms Fortune’s best-seller is also set in Toronto, Meghan’s acting base while she filmed US drama Suits.
