Meghan and Kate watch Serena Williams get thrashed at Wimbledon final

Meghan and Kate have attempted to put rift rumours to bed with their second joint appearance in just a week.

Both duchesses headed to Wimbledon today for the women’s singles final, where Meghan’s close friend Serena Williams was beaten by Simona Halep.

Kate, wearing a short-sleeved green Dolce and Gabbana dress with gold buttons, could be seen waving to tennis fans ahead of the game on Centre Court.

Meghan opted for a crisp white shirt, teamed with a pleated midi skirt patterned with dark blue flowers.

The pair were joined in the box by Kate’s sister Pippa, who wore a blue floor-length floral dress.

Rumours of a feud have followed Kate and Meghan in recent months, with many speculating that Prince William and Prince Harry had seriously fallen out.

A royal source claimed that as a result, Kensington Palace now deliberately tries to avoid ‘diary clashes’ between the two couples, to prevent ‘competition’.

But Meghan and Kate looked relaxed in each other’s company on Wednesday as they played with their children at a charity polo match.

The Duchess of Cambridge previously attended All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), of which she is patron of, to watch Roger Federer in action on the Centre Court.

During today’s visit, she spent five minutes speaking to a group of young female tennis players due to appear in a girls’ doubles semi-final.

Chatting to France’s Giulia Morlet, Russia’s Oksana Selekhmeteva and Polina Kudermetova, and Latvia’s Kamilla Bartone, she discussed the hardship in balancing school work and playing tennis.

Meghan caused a stir earlier this week as she sat and watched Serena on Court One.

The Duchess of Sussex’s royal protection officers told spectators not to take pictures of her during her visit as she was there ‘in a private capacity’.

Hasan Hasanov, one of the tennis fans issues a warning by Meghan’s team, said: ‘I had no idea she was there!’

He told The Sun: ‘I honestly couldn’t really care less about taking a picture of Meghan, Harry or any of the royals – and, if I did, I’d ask first.’

Other big names watching the Women’s singles today included former world number one Martina Navratilova and three-time grand slam winner Virginia Wade.

They were sat alongside the likes of Theresa May, Sir Mark Rylance, Jodie Whittaker and Lily James.
