Meghan and Kate issued harsh warning in order to support the Queen – ‘Raise your game!’

Royal expert Omid Scobie said that Prince William, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will all need to “put in a lot more work” in 2020. Next year could see “big change” to the family, according to the royal expert.

Fellow expert Victoria Arbiter said in the Heirpod podcast that the Queen’s advancing years could be a reason as to why there is more pressure on the younger generations of royals.

Victoria said: “2020 is going to get a lot busier for all of them with Prince Andrew out of the mix now.

“We’ve just lost one member of the royal family technically and, already, the workload increases for everyone else.”

Last week, Kate took over a new role from The Queen after 65 years.

The Duchess of Cambridge room over as the new royal patron of charity Family Action.

And earlier this summer, Kate also took over another role from The Queen.

She became the patron of the Royal Photographic Society after The Queen had been doing the role for 67 years.

But Mr Scobie and Ms Arbiter suggested that next year will be a much busier year for Kate and other members of the Royal Family.

Mr Scobie said: “It’s great, she is a mother, she has three kids, she has a very busy plate as it is…but to see her taking on even more is needed.

“As the Queen steps back, the younger royals are having to step forward and put in a lot more work.”

Ms Arbiter said: “Kate is quite fortunate she had their children when she did, because she’s been able to be hands-on with them.

“But the schedule needs to start building now, as she offers her support to the Queen as well.”

She added: “2020 will be a big year of adjustment, change and adapting with the Queen getting older, so everyone needs to start raising the game a little bit.”

It comes as The Queen is reportedly preparing Kate for her role as Britain’s Queen Consort.

Kate has a busy schedule in the lead up to Christmas.

Last week, the Duchess attended the NATO reception at Buckingham Palace solo, while Prince William was on tour in the Middle East.

Kate’s new charity role shows that The Queen has huge faith in her.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip have hundreds of charity patronages each, some of which the Duke of Edinburgh has kept into his retirement.

While the Queen shows no sign of stepping down at 93 she has begun to hand over an increasing number of responsibilities to younger royals in recent years, especially to Kate.

The Queen’s decision to give Kate the Family Action patronage is a huge gesture of respect and demonstrates her trust in the Duchess.

The charity is clearly aligned with causes close to Kate’s heart and it works to help families dealing with financial hardship, mental health and parenting challenges among other issues.
