One source told the Daily Mail: “Both the Duke and Duchess adore their dogs and Guy has already been relocated from Canada to London once when Meghan moved over.

“She wouldn’t have considered a move again for him if it wasn’t going to be at least semi-permanent.”

Over the Christmas period the couple were living at a mansion on Vancouver Island.

When the Duchess was on maternity leave, she wrote about her love for dogs for the animal welfare charity, Mayhew.

She said: “As a proud rescue dog owner, I know from personal experience the joy that adopting an animal into your home can bring.
