Royal expert Marlene Koenig argued Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son Archie could be photographed incessantly by the US paparazzi. During an interview with Express.co.uk, Ms Koenig explained that the US privacy laws and UK laws are notably different. While Archie’s grandmother Princess Diana was hounded due to her popularity, Archie may be hounded due to relaxed laws on photography and privacy in the US.
Ms Koenig said: “The US doesn’t have the privacy laws that they have in Europe and the UK.
“For example, if Meghan and Harry were walking down the street, I could just follow them with a camera and take pictures and there is nothing they could do about it.
“Many years ago, a member of the paparazzi kept taking pictures of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and her kids.
“She went to court and the court said the photographer has to stay 50 feet away but they cannot prevent him from taking pictures.

“This is because you are in public space, the only place you are private in the US is in your home, in a medical facility, store dressing room and your hotel room.”
What appear to be paparazzi shots of the Duchess of Sussex walking around with son Archie Harrison emerged on Friday.
Meghan, who is expected to give birth to a daughter in early summer, had her arms wrapped around Archie, who curiously looked ahead of him
Ms Koenig did note that there were laws regarding taking pictures of children and how some publications would refuse to take them, even if legally taken.
She continued: “California does have a law about taking pictures of children but there have been court cases with people on the basis of first amendment rights and everything.
Prince Philip 'never got to really know Archie' says Malone
“Unless it is considered stalking of a child, of course, but if I am walking by and I see Meghan, Harry and Archie walking down the street, I could just whip out my cell phone and take pictures, it is not illegal nor is it illegal to publish.
“They will not be able to try that privacy route. If they live in a planned community where the streets are private it is a totally different issue.
“But once they are in Los Angeles and stuff, it is fair game.
“That is why the British press can publish those pictures because they can’t do anything.”

Ms Koenig reiterated that Archie would grow up to have a very different lifestyle compared to the rest of the Royal Family.
