Meghan and Harry to launch launch of Sussex Royal foundation in US in Hollywood style

In the latest sign the Duchess of Sussex is edging closer and closer back to her American roots, the couple will land their charitable foundation stateside in the New Year following their six-week break from royal duties. But despite her extended time off, the mother-of-one is in “work mode” and determined to not leave any stone unturned when it comes to preparing for the launch, The Daily Telegraph reports. Meghan, 38, is said to be looking to connections she made during her acting past to help her and Harry’s charitable cause get off to a flying start with no shortage of fundraising.

The duchess recently met up with Keleigh Thomas Morgan while in the US to celebrate Thanksgiving with Harry, Baby Archie and her mum Doria Ragland.

Ms Thomas Morgan works for Sunshine Sachs, a firm which counts the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lopez and Barbara Streisand among its clients.

A source told The Telegraph channelling her energies towards charitable efforts on the world stage has always been a dream of Meghan’s.

They said: “Now that she has the platform and profile of being a British royal she can truly build this plan.

“She sees this foundation as one of the key factors in creating a legacy as a new royal and Harry is right behind her.

“While Harry and Meghan are technically on rest, she is not the type of woman who likes doing nothing; so this break actually could be seen by some as very fortuitous.”

Among Meghan’s influential and rich friends are George and Amal Clooney, who were guests at her wedding to Harry, Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres.

The duchess is also close to Indian actress Priyanka Chopra, who is married to the Jonas Brothers’ Nick Jonas.

Meghan believes a US launch of Sussex Royal would pull in millions of dollars due to her contacts and profile.

In August the Sussexes appointed media executive Karen Blackett as the first trustee of their foundations.

She was officially listed as the foundation’s director on Companies House.

The move came as it emerged the couple had brought director Natalie Campbell over to their side after they split from working alongside the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the Royal Foundation.

PR guru Sara Latham, who previously worked for the Clintons, is also named as a director of the foundations.

Meghan has increasingly defied royal tradition to opt for her own take on things, something which many royal fans adore her for.

During her 10-day tour of South Africa, the new mum ditched her diamonds and fancy dresses and instead donned a series of casual shirt-style dresses in a bid to avoid standing out.

In October Meghan was caught reaching out to a woman at a charity event to stop her form curtsying as the duchess gestured for a hug.
