Meghan and Harry spotted at London hotel ahead of first UK event together since Megxit

Meghan Markle looked relaxed in a camel coat as hotel staff sheltered the Duchess from the rain with two black umbrellas. Meghan paired her outfit with black heels and a matching bag, wearing her hair loose across her shoulders. Prince Harry appeared equally in good spirits in pictures published on The Sun ahead of their joint engagement tonight at The Endeavour Fund Awards at Mansion House.

It marks Meghan Markle’s first appearance in the UK since she and Harry dropped their bombshell resignation news.

The Duchess has been in Canada with couple’s son Archie after Meghan and Harry announced they were stepping back as senior royals in January.

Meghan and Harry will officially leave their royal roles at the end of the month and are both in the UK to carry out their final engagements.

Prince Harry arrived back in the UK last month, where he carried out an engagement in Edinburgh on February 26.

The Duke spoke at Travalyst conference where he insisted guests just called him “Harry”.

Since then Harry has also met with Jon Bon Jovi as part of an initiative for his Invictus Games.

The Duke met with Abbey Road Studios and the pair and two members of the Invictus Games Choir re-created the iconic Beatles album much to the delight of fans.

The US rocker is re-recording his song Unbroken with the Invictus Games Choir and the charity single version will be made available this month.

Meghan and Harry will attend the Mountbatten Music festival on Saturday night and the Duchess is also expected to take part in International Women’s Day tributes on Sunday, although full details are yet to be confirmed.

They will then reunite with the Queen, Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince William and Kate for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster on Monday.

Meghan and Harry have drawn criticism from some royal commentators after reports emerged saying they would not be bringing their nine-month-old son Archie back to the UK.

The Queen’s former press secretary Dickie Arbiter branded the move “spiteful and inconsiderate” considering Her Majesty and Prince Philip’s age.

He told Nine NewsAustralia: “I’m sorry, there isn’t an excuse for not bringing him. After all, he’s got to meet his family, his family are not going to get a chance to see him for quite some time, because Harry and Meghan are going to be in Canada or the United States.”

He also warned the Queen, 93, and Prince Philip, 98, are “not going to be with us much longer”.
