Amid an ongoing split between the royal siblings, it appears tensions are warming after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sent a private message to William and Kate on their marital milestone. This comes after Harry and William reunited at the funeral of Prince Philip.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes told Bazaar.com the couple privately congratulated the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

But it is not known whether it was a phone call, video call or a written note.

For the first time since March last year, Harry reunited with his older brother, Prince William, as they said goodbye to their grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, this month.

The brothers were spotted on camera speaking to each other, seemingly putting an end to their ongoing rift.

The Duke of Sussex is understood to have met with Prince Charles, Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, following Prince Philip’s funeral in a bid to put an end to the ongoing feud.

It is believed they met at Frogmore Cottage – where Harry and Meghan Markle lived before stepping away from the Firm – and spoke for about two hours.

Despite the royal siblings’ feud seemingly thawing, a royal expert previously warned their reunion was not “the end of the crisis”.

The source said: “Harry obviously felt outnumbered as there are three of them and only one of him so wanted it to be on his home turf.

“There is no way this is the end of the crisis in their relationships but it’s a good gesture and a nice way to take the first step towards healing.

“William, Kate and Charles all left after about two hours, which was long enough for the process of getting father and brothers talking again to start.”

Rumours of a rift between Harry and William have persisted for years, with the younger sibling hinting at the feud in a TV interview in 2019.

Tensions began when William offered Harry advice on taking things slow with Meghan, something the younger son bristled at.

And the situation escalated when Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family without any warning last year.

Their relationship deteriorated significantly following Meghan and Harry’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey last month.

The couple made several shocking allegations against the Royal Family including claiming there were conversations about Archie’s skin colour.

Meghan – who did not attend the funeral due to being heavily pregnant – also said she had suicidal thoughts.

The Duke of Sussex also claimed he was cut off financially from his father, Prince Charles, after stepping down as senior members of the Firm.

He told the media mogul: “My family literally cut me off financially” in the first quarter of 2020.

Harry said this made it difficult for them to afford security costs.

He added: “I’ve got what my mum left me, and without that, we would not have been able to do this [live in California].”

Since stepping away, the couple has signed multimillion-dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify.
