Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have “proven [that their] work continues”, royal commentators have claimed. This comes after it was announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are serving as campaign chairs of Global Citizen’s ‘VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World’. HeirPod host Omid Scobie explained what this would involve to ABC News foreign correspondent Maggie Rulli.
He told listeners: “Harry and Meghan have been picked as the event’s campaign chairs, and they’re going to deliver a message of their own about vaccine equity during the broadcast.
“They’ve already been leading a fundraising drive throughout the private sector to raise money for COVAX, which is the global vaccine sharing programme.
“So this is great to see for them.
“Despite only being two people, Harry and Meghan seem to be involved in much of the issues affecting society at this time.”
Mr Scobie added: “I think they’ve proven to everyone that despite perhaps not being as visible as they once were, the work continues very much at home still.”
Ms Rulli told the podcast: “I think this will be something great to be a part of.
“It’s a worldwide issue and we’re looking for worldwide support.
“So it’s great that people like Harry and Meghan, who are this couple of the world, can be there to support and be leaders.”

The event was pre-taped on May 2 in Los Angeles.
It will then be broadcast around the world on May 8.
The concert also features President Joe Biden, actor Ben Affleck and singer Jennifer Lopez.
Footage emerged from the May 2 taping showing the Duke of Sussex’s time on stage and offering a sneak peek of his speech to the public.

As he walked on he received a standing ovation from the crowd.
In a statement with the announcement, the Sussexes said: “Over the past year, our world has experienced pain, loss, and struggle — together. Now we need to recover and heal — together.
“We can’t leave anybody behind. We will all benefit, we will all be safer, when everyone, everywhere has equal access to the vaccine.
“We must pursue equitable vaccine distribution, and in that, restore faith in our common humanity. This mission couldn’t be more critical or important.”
