Princess Beatrice is reportedly at odds with her sister, Princess Eugenie, over the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle situation. It has been claimed that Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank were upset with Beatrice for announcing her pregnancy on the day of Meghan and Harry’s third wedding anniversary. As reported by The Mirror, a source said: “Eugenie is still extremely close to Meghan, as is Jack, and they feel it was really unfair to grab the headlines that day.

“Eugenie didn’t approve of the decision to shun Meghan and Harry’s anniversary — she feels that they have been incredibly hard done by.”

But, the royal sisters were said to be at the receiving end of a veiled swipe after the Sussexes were forced to ditch their Sussex Royal brand in February 2020.

In retaliation to the Firm, Harry and Meghan released a statement claiming the monarchy doesn’t have “jurisdiction” over the use of “royal” and appeared to complain they were being treated differently to other family members.

But an insider claimed this was a subtle dig at Beatrice and Eugenie, the daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah, the Duchess of York.

Harry and Meghan’s statement read: “While there is precedent for other titled members of the Royal Family to seek employment outside of the institution, for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a 12-month review period has been put in place.

“Per the agreement The Duke and Duchess of Sussex understand that they are required to step back from royal duties and not undertake representative duties on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen.”

A royal source analysed the statement, claiming that it appeared to be a veiled swipe at Beatrice and Eugenie.

They told The Mirror: “It’s pretty clear they are referencing minor royals such as Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, which is an odd association to make for two people whose associates were once claiming they had single-handedly modernised the monarchy.

“This is further evidence of Harry and Meghan further ostracising themselves from the family rather than building bridges.”

Friends of the Duchess of Sussex addressed the controversy, saying that Meghan was “done with the drama”.

They defended Meghan, arguing that her intention to use the Sussex Royal brand was only in support of the Royal Family, and not an effort to profit off of it.

Meghan’s friends told the Mail: “(The brand) shouldn’t even be an issue in the first place and it’s not like they want to be in the business of selling T-shirts and pencils.

“Meghan said she’s done with the drama and has no room in her life for naysayers, and the same goes for Harry.

“Meghan said the global projects they are working on speak for themselves and they chose that name to protect the royal name, not profit off of it.

“She said regardless of the name, Harry and Archie have royal blood and no one can take that away. And that as a family, they will always be considered royalty.”
