Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were growing unhappy with their their royal roles before Archie’s birth in May 2019, but were were “quite afraid” of challenging the system.

He added Harry and Meghan had “that energy to stand up for what was right for them, regardless of what the consequences were”.

Mr Scobie added: “As we have seen, those consequences have been pretty major.”
