Royal commentators have predicted that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may make a “nice tribute” to Prince Philip with the naming of their new baby. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s relationship with the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen was discussed by the Royally Obsessed podcast. Host Roberta Fiorito explained that the honour may come as a result of Philip’s recent passing.

She told listeners: “It’s very clear that Harry loves his grandfather.

“They may even include his name in the second child’s name.

“There have been some predictions from royal watchers.

“Since it’s a girl, maybe Phillipa.”

Ms Fiorito added: “We know that with Princess Eugenie, she made it a part of August’s name.

“So it would be a nice tribute to their grandfather.”

Eugenie named her first child August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.

The baby boy was born on February 9, making him the Queen and Philip’s ninth great-grandchild.

Meghan Markle ‘wanted to be at funeral’ says insider

Currently Diana is the most expected name choice for the new Sussex baby, according to many betting sites.

Odds Checker has put the probability down as 20 percent, miles ahead of the next option, Allegra, at just 8.3 percent.

These are followed by Isabella, Alice and Abigail.

Phillips does come in at the sixth most popular choice.

There are even some homages to other important women in the mix.

This includes Kamala, Oprah and Camilla.

The baby is expected to arrive in summer.

Meghan has been unable to attend the funeral as a result of her late stage pregnancy and orders from her doctor.
