Royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti argued the Royal Family are very careful when it comes to their brand and messaging. During an interview with Express.co.uk, Mr Sacerdoti argued Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s use of private jets was not smart. He made this claim as the royal couple have routinely publicly decried how important fighting climate change is.
He claimed the Royal Family would not make these mistakes and would be more diligent in their messaging.
Mr Sacerdoti said: “Down to the private jets, that is poor messaging.
“I don’t think you would find the Royal Family messing up so badly.
“The Royal Family are not perfect but to be seen as eco-warriors or environmentalists and then be so frequently flying around in these carbon-emitting private jets is not smart.

“I don’t think it fits in with the very careful messaging and planning the Royal Family normally engage in.
“I think that has also underlined the differences in how they are doing things.”
Meghan and Harry have both faced criticism for their use of private jets and consistent travel.
The pair faced this most recently after their trip to New York.

Royal author Penny Junor argued the royal couple’s private jet usage was “muddying the water of their climate message.”
She told The Sun: “I’m sure there were plenty of scheduled flights.
“I do not understand why they are behaving as if they are superstars.
“His father has been known to take scheduled flights. His brother takes scheduled flights.

“This totally muddies the waters of their climate message. They are shooting themselves in the foot by taking private flights.”
The usage of a private jet has come under criticism as a journey on a private jet from New York to California is estimated to produce 17 tonnes of carbon emissions.
Eco firm Pawprint claims that the average carbon footprint per person in the UK per year is 12.7 tonnes, which this journey exceeds.
