Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have come under furious attack after being accused of “deeply unpleasant vanity” by one Royal Family expert, who in contrast praised the “grace” of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The first three episodes of the Netflix documentary series from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were released last Thursday. There was anger following one particular scene, which saw Meghan joking about having to curtsey to the Queen after Harry recounted the conversation he had with his wife when he first introduced her to the monarch.

But a trailer released by Netflix on Monday for the final three episodes of the series, to be released on Thursday, has raised fears of attacks against the Royal Family. In the teaser clip, Harry says people were “happy to lie” to protect his older brother, the Prince of Wales.

Nile Gardiner, a Washington-based foreign policy expert and Royal Family enthusiast, praised Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales for their recent trip to the US, but furiously lashed out at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

He told Express.co.uk: “The Prince and Princess of Wales had a hugely successful visit to the US. They are wonderful representatives for the Royal Family and British people.

“There is a massive difference in the grace from William and Kate compared to the deeply unpleasant vanity of Meghan and Harry. They are poles apart in terms of how they conduct themselves on the world stage. The future is in very safe hands with William and Kate.”

It comes after the first trailer of Harry & Meghan was released while Kate and Prince William were in Boston.

Mr Gardiner claimed there is a an angry backlash against Meghan and Kate in the US, with many Americans turning against the couple over their “vicious attacks” against the Royal Family.

He continued: “The American people clearly love William and Kate. But the American people will begin turning against Meghan and Harry.

“They will be popular with the liberal left wing elite but increasingly unpopular with the American people. They will become isolated in the US and will be as unpopular here as they are in the UK.

“Americans don’t like vicious attacks on the Royal Family. The monarchy remains extremely popular in the US.”

The Royal Family enthusiast has also demanded Meghan and Harry be stripped of their royal titles following the release of their documentary series. The couple quit their roles in early 2020 after moving from the UK to the US, but have kept their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles.

Mr Gardiner said: “The time has come for Meghan and Harry to absolutely be stripped of their royal titles. They should not have any royal status and are using their titles to advance their own personal needs.

“They do not represent the British people or monarchy. They are doing their best to trash the reputation of the British monarchy and their titles should be removed as soon as possible. They have now totally destroyed any positive ties with the British people and Royal Family.”

The final episodes of Meghan and Harry’s six-part documentary series are set to explore their decision to step away from royal duties to start a new life in the US.

Harry and Meghan: Netflix tease dramatic end to documentary

During the new 90-second teaser clip, the Duke of Sussex is heard saying: “I wonder what would’ve happened to us had we not got out when we did.”

Meghan adds: “Our security was being pulled. Everyone in the world knew where we were.” Harry can be heard saying: “I said, ‘We need to get out of here’.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also address their relationship with the Prince and Princess of Wales following widespread speculation over recent months of a rift between the two couples.

Meghan tells the camera: “I wasn’t being thrown to the wolves, I was being fed to the wolves.”

While an image of Buckingham Palace is shown, Harry adds: “They were happy to lie to protect my brother (William). They were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.”It is unclear who the Duke of Sussex is referring to when he says “they”.

During one of the episodes released last Thursday, Meghan is seen joking about having to curtsey to the late Queen after Harry recounted the conversation he had with his wife when he first introduced her to Her Majesty.

Harry appears to glare at his wife uncomfortably as she impersonates the curtsy, suggesting he was far from happy with what she said and did.

An early episode also uses the bombshell interview Harry and William’s late mother Diana, Princess of Wales conducted with BBC’s Panorama in 1995, which William has angrily insisted should never be used again.
