'Mass pub brawl erupts' after England's Jordan Pickford 'mocked over T-Rex arms'

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford became caught up in a pub brawl after punters taunted him over his ‘little arms’, according to reports.

There is no suggestion the Everton FC star assaulted anyone during the fight in East Boldon, South Tyneside.

His friends were said to be fuming after he was mocked for his ‘T-Rex arms’ and then all hell broke loose.

One man left with a broken nose and another with a smashed phone after he was filming the incident, which is now being investigated by police.

An eyewitness said Pickford was being ‘goaded’ at the Beggar’s Bridge pub before the fight broke out at around 9pm on Sunday.

‘All I heard was “little arms” and then that’s it. It kicked off. It happened as soon as they walked in. They hadn’t even had time to get a drink,’ they told The Sun.

The eyewitness said Pickford wasn’t hurt, was out the door straight away and left with his group in a minibus before police arrived.

No arrests have been made over the brawl, but a Northumbria Police spokesman confirmed the force is investigating.

He said: ‘We received a report of a disturbance at the Beggar’s Bridge pub.

‘It was reported that a fight broke out between two groups of males inside the premises. An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.’

The fight came just days after a Newcastle United fan wore a T-Rex costume to mock Pickford during their match against Everton last Tuesday.

Liverpool fans have also poked fun at the goalie, chanting: ‘He couldn’t touch the cross bar, he’s only got little arms.’

Everton declined to comment on Sunday’s incident.
