Map reveals London's most expensive street where homes cost £23,800,000

Phillimore Gardens in Kensington where the average house price is £23.8 million has been named the nation’s most expensive street.

Located close to Kensington High Street in west London, all of the homes on the west side of the street back on to Holland Park.

Popular with both royals and celebrities, you would need an extremely healthy bank balance to call this neighbourhood home.

If that’s a little out of your price range, you could always look at Grosvenor Square in Mayfair – the second most expensive street – where homes have an average price of £23.5 million.

Illchester Place, also near Holland Park, is the third priciest street, with homes there costing £17.7 million on average, according to Halifax’s annual study.

There is considerably more bang for your buck in the North East and East Midlands, where buyers would need around one and-a-half million pounds to live in the dearest locations.

Ramside Park in Durham took the top spot in the North East, with the average house price at £1,553,000.

In the East Midlands, Warren Hill in Leicester (£1,615,000) is the most expensive street.

In the North West, Broadway in Altrincham (£3,184,000) was placed top.

The priciest street in Yorkshire and the Humber is Manor House Lane in Leeds (£2,367,000).

In the West Midlands, Bakers Lane in Solihull came top (£2,341,000), while Lawrence Drive (£4,085,000) in Poole, Dorset is first in the South West.

Chaucer Road in Cambridge (£4,240,000) finished top in the East of England, while Benar Headland in Pwllheli (£1,730,000) is Wales’s most expensive street.

The only street outside London included in the nation’s top 20 was Titlarks Hill in Ascot, where you can expect to pay £12,318,000 on average.

Kim Kinnaird, mortgages director at Halifax, said: ‘For almost all of us, these homes and their eye-watering price tags are the stuff fantasy house hunts are made of.

‘Unsurprisingly, London roads occupy the top 10 streets in the UK, and buying a home on London’s Phillimore Gardens could set you back a staggering £24 million on average.

‘That said, the price of a prestigious address can differ hugely across the UK.’
