Manchester shooting: Police scramble after shot fired in Rusholme – road closed

Greater Manchester Police has a confirmed a firearm has been discharged at a shop window in Rusholme. The incident took place at around 2pm and Wilmslow Road has been closed in both directions.

Police have said no one was injured during the incident.

The force added no arrests have been made.

An investigation remains ongoing and a large police cordon is in place from Moss Lane East and Great Western Street.

Public transport has also been put on diversion to Platt Lane, Lloyd Street South and Moss Lane East.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “Police attended and established a firearm had been discharged at a shop window.

“A bullet casing was recovered from the scene. There are no reported injuries.

“No arrests have been made.”
