Man won $1,000,000 on lottery twice in a day

A woman couldn’t believe her luck when she won $2 million on the lottery after her husband forgot to buy tickets for the draw the week before.

The man had upset his wife after forgetting to buy a ticket so decided to buy two a week later.

To make it up to her, he bought tickets with the same numbers that his wife had been using for decades.

Lo and behold, the couple from Wollongong, Australia, were handed $2 million for winning the two division one prizes on the Monday Lotto.

The woman almost fainted when she discovered the incredible prize money.

‘My wife has played these numbers for almost three decades and has always said they’d be drawn one day,’ he told Lotto.

The wife excitedly checked the numbers on Tuesday morning not knowing her husband had bought an identical ticket.

‘I can’t believe this has happened to us,’ the husband said.

The new millionaires said they will spend the money going on holiday and on their children.

‘It won’t take much to make us happy,’ the wife said.

‘I can buy my daughter a house, I can set up the children and grandchildren for the future. Once we’ve done that, then we can enjoy whatever is left.’

In other lottery news in December, a man from Massachusetts won £1.6million on the lottery after his ‘intuition’ told him to buy six lottery tickets.

Each of Raymond Roberts’ tickets was worth £324,000 as a cash prize and the winning numbers were a combination of his birthday and anniversary dates.

He had been playing the lottery for 20 years and had used the numbers before but had no such luck.
