Man ‘pretending to be police officer handcuffs young child’ in street
A man allegedly impersonating a police officer handcuffed a young child after approaching them on a street.
The man is reported to have approached two young boys on the street and managed to handcuff the younger of the two.
The boy’s mother saw what was happening and the man quickly left the area.
Police have now launched an investigation into the incident, which took place in the Hamilton Road area in Alford, Lincolnshire at around 5.20pm on Thursday, July 13.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information as we continue to investigate a suspicious man seen in Alford.

“The man approached two young boys and managed to handcuff the youngest child. It is believed that he was impersonating a police officer at the time.
“He is described as having ginger hair, looks around 50 years old and was wearing a hi-vis jacket.
“We continue to investigate the circumstances around this incident and are now appealing for information.
