Man fighting for his life after being stabbed 'during fight' in east London

A man is fighting for his life after being knifed during a fight in east London.

Police were called to the scene in Whitechapel at 2.05pm to reports of men fighting and a man was found at the scene with stab wounds.

He has been rushed to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition, Met Police said.

Two men, who were at the scene, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and taken into custody for questioning.

Later this evening, another young man was repeatedly stabbed in front of horrified shoppers inside Westfield Shopping Centre, in Shepherd’s Bush.

The victim, who is said to be in his early 20s, was rushed to hospital just after 7pm but his condition is not yet known.


It comes as two teenagers were stabbed to death within just  hours of each other in the capital on Thursday.

An aspiring footballer, Baptista Adjei, 15, from North Woolwich, was knifed to death outside a McDonald’s in Stratford Shopping Centre.

Baptista was found collapsed in a pool of blood and was pronounced dead at the scene half an hour later.

Police said a 15-year-old boy who handed himself in to an east London police station was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Just five hours later, officers were called to Brandon Estate in Camberwell, south London, where they found an 18-year-old man with stab wounds.

Met Police said he died an hour later.
