A MAN has been arrested after gardai seized €63,000 worth of heroin and cannabis at a house in Dublin.

The arrest came as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale of controlled drugs in the West Tallaght area.

The drugs included €16,000 worth of heroin and €47,000 worth of cannabis according to An Garda Síochána.

The search was carried out on a house in the Brookview area of Tallaght this afternoon by the Tallaght Drugs Unit.

A 29-year-old man was later arrested and is currently detained for questioning under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

He may be held for seven days.

Investigations are ongoing.
