Man arrested after woman plunges from third floor balcony in '2am attack'
A woman suffered serious injuries after she fell from a third floor balcony during an alleged alleged assault in the early hours.
She miraculously survived the fall from the block of flats on Friday but remains in hospital with what are thought to be non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives have started an investigation into the incident and have arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion assault causing grievous bodily harm.
An ambulance and at least nine police vehicles were scrambled to the scene on Regent Road.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: ‘We were called shortly before 2am to a report of a woman falling from the balcony of a flat on Regent Road, Manchester.
‘A woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries which thankfully aren’t thought to be life-threatening.
‘A 28-year-old was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and remains in custody.’
