Man arrested after police officer 'seriously assaulted' in alleyway
A man has been arrested after a police officer was ‘seriously assaulted’ in a London alleyway.
Officers had been in pursuit of a suspect vehicle in Dartmouth Road, Hendon, around 7.12pm this evening, when a man escaped from the car and was located in an alleyway in the Park Road area.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said a struggle then ensued and an officer was seriously assaulted. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The suspect was later located and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, the spokesperson said.
A crime scene remains in place, and the investigation is still on-going.
