Man, 66, denies sending offensive email to Angela Rayner
A man has denied sending an offensive email to Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner. David Perry faced two charges under the Communications Act in relation to an alleged email sent to the MP in May. Perry, from Weybridge, Surrey, pleaded not guilty to both charges: the first charge alleges the message was “grossly offensive” and the second that it was “indecent, obscene or menacing”.
Westminster Magistrates Court heard that Perry will say he did not send the email after telling the police his computer may have been hacked.
The email was allegedly sent to the Ashton-under-Lyne MP on May 3.
Perry was granted unconditional bail ahead of a trial in November.
