Maidenhead fire: ‘Explosion and fireball’ at huge blaze – ‘Get back’
A cloud of black smoke has filled the air with Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service in attendance at the scene. They said in a statement: “At 12:37pm on Friday, 30 August, we received a call to reports of a fire on Ray Mill Road West, Maidenhead. Crews from Maidenhead, Slough, Windsor, Langley have been sent to the scene, alongside crews from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.
“More information will be shared as it becomes available.”
The Maidenhead Advertiser is reporting gas cylinders are present at the scene.
Reporter Will Taylor said on Twitter: “Explosion and fireball just went off – police shouting for people to get away.”
“Fire is a scrapyard with gas cylinders, an official has said. Ray Mill Road West is blocked off – firefighter said might block whole road.
“Firefighters telling everyone to stay away.”
