M60 traffic chaos sees four mile queues as Storm Eunice batters UK – major ‘defect’

Two lanes are shut on the anti clockwise carriageway at junction 11 for Eccles and the A57 Liverpool Road. Highways England warned traffic is queuing for around four miles up to the incident. Workers are rushing to the scene as they attempt tpo repair the damage on the busy stretch of road.

Highways England tweeted: “Lanes 1 and 2 (of 3) are closed on the #M60 anti clockwise within J11 (#Eccles #A57) due to a carriageway defect.

“There are 4 miles of congestion leading back to J14 (#M61).

“Our service providers are en route to scene to repair the defect.”
