Miles of congestion is being reported due to the accident just before the Dartford Crossing near junction 31.

Lanes 1 and 2 clockwise are closed due to the crash, with hours of delays expected.

Highways England said: “The event is expected to clear between 13:00 and 13:14.

“Normal traffic conditions are expected between 13:15 and 13:30.”

As well as those hoping to reach the Dartford Crossing, drivers heading for Lakeside Shopping Centre are also being affected. 

Highways Englsnd is reporting eight miles of queues.
