There are long queues on the clockwise carriageway from junction 30 for West Thurrock and Chafford Hundred, Essex, following the crash which involved two vehicles. Traffic is congested over the bridge – officially named the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge – which goes over River Thames.
All lanes were shut earlier this morning, reports Essex Live.
The lanes have now reopened but traffic is still slow from junction 30.
Anti-clockwise traffic is crawling too, largely due to onlookers.
It’s slow from junction 1b, which is for Dartford, Kent.
Essex Police, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, and the East of England Ambulance Service have been approached for a comment.
Elsewhere, another crash has caused delays on the M25 in Surrey.
The clockwise carriageway is busy from junction 12 – the M3 link – and junction 13 for Staines.
Eight cars are believed to be involved in that shunt.
