The collision took place on Tuesday morning, at around 6.30am.

Traffic is now stopped just before Junction 26, the A121, at Waltham Abbey.

Traffic monitoring system, INRIX, said the incident involved “a couple of cars”.

It added that one of the cars had pulled over to the side of the carriageway and another was stranded on the central reservation.

The stationary traffic has caused knock-on delays on other junctions of the M25 motorway, including at Potters Bar and Enfield.
