Camilla set up The Duchess of Cornwall’s Reading Room on Instagram in January after the popularity of her reading lists during lockdown in 2020. Tom Parker Bowles is the author of seven cookbooks and was awarded the Guild of Food Writers in 2010.
The Duchess of Cornwall’s Reading Room Instagram account revealed the collaboration in a post on Tuesday.
The post read: “Over the next few weeks we will introduce a selection of cookery writers that have been handpicked by Her Royal Highness, with the help of her son, food writer and critic, Tom Parker Bowles.
“We cordially invite Tom into the Reading Room to share with us his love of the art of great cookery writing, and to introduce us to some of his favourite writers.”
Royal fans seemed thrilled with the news of the collaboration with fans praising Camilla for the wonderful idea.
One user wrote: “What great fun! Thank you!”
Another said: “Looking forward to this!”
A third commented: “Really lovely idea!”
One more added: “How exciting!!! Can’t wait.”
A fifth penned: “I’m looking forward to this! I love to cook and of course eat!! I can’t wait!”
Another added: “Aw fab!! I love Tom as a food critic!!!”
Camilla’s online book club has previously featured several prominent authors including acclaimed War Horse author Sir Michael Morpurgo.
During the break between Reading Rooms Seasons this year, Royal Society of Literature fellow Stephen Fry also shared his memories of reading as a child on the Instagram site.
Stephen Fry said in the Instagram video: “When I was about seven I started reading for pleasure, I can remember this feeling when there was a story that I was in the middle of that it was under my pillow, or it was by the bed or in a particular corner where I sat and read.
“I could always go there and it was a refuge, no matter how miserable I was, my friends didn’t like me or I couldn’t play a game, if I was moody whatever it was.”
He added: “This private refuge that reading gave me was soon the most important part of my life. It was somewhere I could always be happy and secure.”
Camilla’s son Tom Parker Bowles was born in 1974 and is the son of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Andrew Parker Bowles.
