The National Lottery Lotto, Thunderball and Lotto Hotpicks draws are taking place tonight with more than £12.4m up for grabs. The Lotto has rolled over five times now which means tonight is a Must Be Won draw. The draw will be taking place around 8.15pm on Saturday – check back here then and Express.co.uk will reveal the winning numbers as soon as the lottery results are live.

The Lotto can only roll over five times – ending in a Must Be Won draw.

In the Must Be Won draw tonight a lucky winner could win a jackpot of £11.6m.

The base jackpots on Lotto are £2m on a Wednesday and £3.8m on a Saturday.

This continues until it equates to at least £11m for a Wednesday Must Be Won draw or up to £12m on a Saturday.

If no one wins the jackpot by matching all six main numbers, there is a rolldown.

This means the jackpot is shared by players matching two or more main numbers.

Thousands of people can win a boosted cash prize if this is the case.

Players matching 2 main numbers in a Rolldown will each receive a £5 cash prize in addition to their usual free Lucky Dip.

The remaining jackpot prize fund is then allocated, in set percentages, to other winning prize tiers and shared among those winners.

The Thunderball and Lotto Hotpicks draws are also taking place tonight (October 6).

The Thunderball draw costs £1 to play with a jackpot prize of £500,000.

The Lotto Hotpicks draw costs £1 to play and anyone who can pick and match three balls will win £800.

As today is a draw day, players are able to purchase lottery tickets for the upcoming draws until 7.30pm.

Normally, you can buy Lotto tickets for any upcoming draws online each day from 6am until 11pm.

To play, you must pick six numbers between one and 59.

Those unable to decide which numbers to pick can opt for a LuckyDip which randomly selects numbers for you.

Players are able to purchase up to seven lines of numbers on each play slip.

Overall, lottery players can buy up to 10 slips at any time – filled with seven lines of numbers.

Each line of numbers costs £2 – so the most any lottery player can spend for one draw is £140.

You can buy a lottery ticket online here, on the National Lottery app or at a newsagent.

Anyone who purchased online or using the app will have their ticket checked automatically and receive an email notification if they are a prizewinner.
