London Waterloo delay: Travel disrupted as owner forced to chase dog down tracks – VIDEO
London Waterloo departures came to a halt after a man was forced to chase his dog down the tracks after losing control of the pet on one of the station’s platforms. Footage shared on social media by passengers stuck on the tracks captured the runaway dog running towards Vauxhall Station as his owner ran after him. The man, wearing a white t-shirt and shorts, can be seen trotting after the pet as passengers inside the train say “he is running towards him.”
The unexpected chase came as commuters already faced major travel disruptions due to extreme weather conditions which saw thermometers rocket to 38C.
National Rail announced all travel between Waterloo station and Clapham Junction would be interrupted until the “trespassing incident” was resolved.
The passenger train operating company association wrote on Twitter: “#LondonWaterloo – Until the trespass incident has been resolved, all lines are blocked between Waterloo and Clapham Junction.”
Travel disruptions from London Waterloo were expected to continue until 10PM.
