London Ambulance Service was called just after 10.20am this morning. They dispatched an ambulance crew, two paramedics in fast response cars, plus an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance all attended – but tragically, the person involved died at the scene.

Twitter user Sam Tucker posted: “Absolutely terrifying on the #victorialine at #stockwell just now. Tube stopped. Door did not open.

“Long wait with no announcement followed by emergency sirens…still no announcement.

“People panicking. Eventually one door opened way to long after evac had started….”

A TFL spokesman told Express.co.uk: “There was a suspension between Victoria and Brixton from 1025 until 1130 because of an incident at Stockwell.

“The line is now up and running with no delays.”
