London rape horror: Police launch urgent manhunt after woman attacked while jogging

The Met Police said a woman was attacked by stranger whilst jogging a route into Streatham Common. The incident took place at around 5am on December 23. Police added the suspect fled the scene in the direction of Sainsbury’s on Streatham High Road.

Police said the suspect was wearing dark clothes, a face covering, scruffy white trainers and gloves.

He is described as being a tall male with an athletic build and an English accent.

In a statement, the Met said“Police are appealing for information following a report of a rape in Streatham Common early on Thursday, 23 December 2021.

“A woman was attacked by an unknown man whilst running a route into Streatham Common via Streatham Common North at around 05.10hrs.

“After the attack, the suspect is reported to have run away in the direction of Sainsbury’s in Streatham High Road.

“The suspect is described as a tall male of athletic build, who was wearing dark clothing with a hood and face covering and gloves. He was also wearing white scruffy trainers.

“There is no further description of him at this stage. He is described as having an English accent.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the police on 101, quoting the reference CAD 1936/28 Dec.
