London: Pedestrian struck by unmarked police car

The incident took place near Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherd’s Bush just before 2pm on Tuesday. The man who was hit by the unmarked Met Police car is not said to have life-threatening injuries.

Footage from the scene shows two women caring for the injured man lying on the road.

The road where the incident took place needed to be closed in both directions in order to deal with the injured man.

Two ambulances and an air ambulance were pictured at the scene.

An investigation has since been launched by police.

Following the incident, the man was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.

It is not yet known whether the police car was attending a separate incident when the crash happened.

A statement from the Met Police reads: “Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating after a collision involving a police vehicle.

“The incident happened at 13:36hrs on Tuesday, 9 November at Wood Lane, W12.

“A police car collided with a pedestrian who was taken to a central London hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed as a matter of course.

“Enquiries continue.”
